Volunteering Consultant
A former architectural designer and lover of all things brick and mortar, Carolyn left her drafting desk and started DC Design Tours so she could talk about buildings rather than draw them. She has not-so-secret crushes on Pierre L’Enfant and Montgomery Meigs, and can spot a mansard roof a mile away. Carolyn is a graduate of the University of Maryland Architecture Program and hails from the exotic suburbs of New Jersey, though the District of Columbia has been her home since 2006. When not guiding, you can find Carolyn counting columns at the National Building Museum (there are 152) and traipsing through Rock Creek Park looking for Civil War remnants.
